With so many varsity athletic programs on the Iowa Western campus, the need for athletic trainers has never been greater. What better way to learn those skills than by enrolling in the Sports Medicine: Athletic Training program?
From the first semester, students are assigned to an athletic team, attend practices and games, work directly with athletes, and gain valuable hands-on experience. At many other schools, students don’t get this opportunity until their junior or senior year.
After completing the two-year Associate of Science degree, you will be well-prepared to transfer to a four-year institution to complete your bachelor’s degree and get started in this exciting career field, or continue on to complete a graduate degree.
Sports Medicine: General Education
You can choose to get “lost in the crowd” of a large university while pursuing a degree in sports medicine or select Iowa Western’s Sports Medicine: General Education program to reach the ground floor of this sports injury/exercise-related career field. This wide-ranging program will reward successful candidates with an Associate of Science degree designed to transfer to four-year institutions to complete a bachelor’s degree.
With an advanced degree you will be eligible to seek employment in many different fields, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, corporate wellness, personal training, and exercise science.
Once you complete this program, you’ll be fully prepared to advance toward a bachelor’s degree at a four-year institution and a higher-paying position.Learn More...
