Caleb Hinson starts his second year coaching with Iowa Western. Last season, Coach Hinson participated as a volunteer assistant, helping out with training and game management. This season his roles have expanded, he is the Men’s Assistant and Head Varsity Reserve Coach. As the head trainer for the varsity reserve, Coach Hinson will run training sessions and manage the varsity reserve matches.
During his prep career at Nevada (Iowa) High School, Hinson was starting keeper for three years. His team won three district finals and made three appearances at the state tournament. He earned 3 first team all conference honors and was selected as the first team all state keeper his senior year.
Hinson played one year at Marshalltown Community College, helping his team to a regional title. Marshalltown ended the year ranked 10th in the nation. Hinson transferred to Iowa Western the next season and helped the Reivers finish second in the region while earning all region honors as a goalkeeper.
Coach Hinson holds his USSF National “D” license, State NSCAA Goalkeeper license, and intends to increase his coaching credentials next season with the USSF and NSCAA.
