Chris Johns enters his first year wih the Reiver Baseball Program. Johns will help Coach Rardin with the pitching staff along with Coach Ogden and the JV program.

Prior to Iowa Western, Coach Johns served as the Volunteer Coach at The University of Northern Colorado. At Northern Colorado, Johns was in charge of team travel and helped with organizing daily practice schedules. He worked with the pitching staff, outfielders, and catchers. During the summer Johns has been the Pitching Coach for The Duluth Huskies in the Northwoods League as well as The Pitching Coach for The Keene Swamp Bats in The New England Collegiate League.

Coach Johns stared his collegiate playing at Lamar Community College under Scott Crampton. While at Lamar he compiled a 21-1 record and 2.28 era. Johns holds both the single season record (12) and career record (21). Johns was Baseball Americas pre-season pitcher of the year in 2004. After Lamar CC Johns played at Louisiana Lafayette, then transferred to The University of Northern Colorado for his senior seaon. At Northern Colorado he was the Friday night starter. He beat #2 Nebraska and Big 12 Champions Kansas.
