As a former player and graduate from Iowa Western Community College, Hannah Silvey returns to IWCC as an Assistant Coach for Women’s Soccer.

Silvey, a very versatile player was a star goalkeeper in her youth. Silvey started all four years of her high school career, lead the Springville Red Devils to a number of state tournaments, and grabbed many honors including Most Valuable Player (2005), Salt Lake Tribune Merit 1st Team All-State (2005), and Utah Valley Prep of the Week (2005). Silvey played club ball with Celtic Storm Soccer Club in Orem, Utah. In 2005, Silvey lead her team to their first appearance at the Far West Region Tournament after making a crucial save in a shoot-out at the Utah State Cup.

In 2006, Silvey signed with the IWCC Reivers. In the fall of 2006, the team finished with an outstanding record of 20-2-1 snagging the Conference, Region XI, and District Championships, sending the women’s soccer team to their first appearance at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. Iowa Western history was made when the team placed National Runner-Up in the tournament, making them the first team ever to compete for a national title. Silvey gained Region XI Honorable Mention in 2006. In 2007, history repeated itself with a record of 22-2-1, another trip to the National Tournament and another National Runner-Up repeat. In 2007, Silvey was named captain, made the National All-Tournament Team and 1st Team All-Region XI. Silvey graduated from Iowa Western in the spring of 2007 after signing with the University of Texas-El Paso (NCAA D-I). There she trained with the Miners and continued her education.

In Council Bluffs, Silvey has helped with assistant duties for Council Bluffs Futbol Club (CBFC) and has provided personal training to many CBFC players. Silvey currently holds her USSF “D” License.
