Lana Ross begins her eighth year as head coach for the Reiver softball program. Ross led the 2009 Reivers to a 41-20 record and holds the softball record for most victories at IWCC with 282. Her overall college coaching record is 282-137 (.673). In seven years Ross has coached 26 Reivers to first-team all-region honors, 28 to second-team all-region honors, 5 NJCAA All Americans, 7 NFCA All Americans 17 NJCAA Academic All-Americans, and 56 NFCA Academic All-Americans. Each of Ross’ teams has been selected as an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year as well as an NFCA Academic Team of the Year. Ross was selected as the Conference Coach of the Year in 2008 as she led the Reivers to Regional and District Titles and a 5th place finish at the National Tournament.

Prior to her years coaching in the United States Ross, spent more than five years coaching a 19 and under team in Alberta, Canada. She was named Minor Coach of the Year in 1998 and 1999. Ross has conducted numerous camps and clinics throughout Canada.

Ross attended Oklahoma City University and graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in 1995. While at OCU, she was a member of the Chiefs softball team that won back-to-back national championships in 1994 and 1995. She also played Senior A Softball in Canada for more than eleven years, winning eleven provincial titles. Ross has participated in Canadian Senior Nationals eleven times, winning one gold, three silver and two bronze medals. She was named Player of the Year in 1997 and 1998. Coach Ross is as competitive and intense as they come. Her philosophy of hard work and mental preparation has a great impact on her players. Her knowledge of the game and her extensive experience is second to none.

Ross is married to Patrick Anderson of Danbury, IA. Patrick is an elementary school teacher.
