Mike Nicola begins his fourth year at Iowa Western Community College as an Assistant Certified Athletic Trainer and adjunct faculty member. As a member of the adjunct faculty, he teaches courses within the sports medicine program. He also assists with the coaching authorization class and supervises the student athletic trainers.

In 2004, Mike earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln in Athletic Training. Prior to his arrival at Iowa Western, Mike spent two years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Louisiana State University working primarily with Men’s and Women’s Track & Field, Women’s Gymnastics, and Football. In May of 2006, Mike earned a Master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management from LSU.

An Omaha, NE native, Mike currently lives in Bellevue, NE with his wife, Mary, and son, Ben (2).
