Nicole Shives is starting her third year at Iowa Western Community College as an assistant certified athletic trainer and adjunct faculty member. Nicole teaches classes within the sports science program and supervises the student athletic trainers.

 She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 2005, majoring in athletic training. She completed her Master’s degree at the University of Northern Iowa in 2008, also in the field of athletic training. During this time she was a graduate assistant for track and field, cross country and a local area high school.

 Nicole, originally from Clermont, Iowa, was married in June and now resides in Council Bluffs, Iowa with her husband Chris.
