IWCC Women's Soccer suffered their first tie after giving up a 2-0 lead to Butler County CC in El Dorado, KS. The Reivers added the first goal in the 15th minute of the match. Tori von Mende fed a through ball to Chamea Palmer splitting two Butler defenders. Palmer showed great composure on her break away to frame and found the back of the net.
In the 46th minute, Chamea Palmer found herself with space on the outside of the field and serviced a ball onto Canada Clawson's head. Clawson battled in the air and connected, tucking the ball away into Butler's frame and pushing the lead 2-0.
After the second goal, IWCC's team defense slowly became complacent and comfortable. Two team defensive breakdowns cost the Reivers two goals against them. The Butler Grizzles found the frame in the 65th and 89th minutes, making the score 2-2 and pushing the game into overtime.
Although IWCC outshot and out-possessed their opponent in both 10-minute overtime halves, they were unable to capitalized and secure a win.
