Reivers faced region rivals Marshalltown on Wednesday.  The Reivers suffered a 4-1 loss to the 5th ranked team in the nation.  Quickly setting the tone for the match, Marshalltown went up a goal in the 1st minute and then added another goal in the 33rd minute.  Iowa Western's Matt Pruett put the Reivers within reach making it 2-1 with seven minutes left in the first half, but failed to keep Marshalltown out of their own net  just three minutes later.  Iowa Wesetrn gained more composure in the second half, but the damage had already been done.  "The key to our success this season will be the attitude we bring day in and day out, especially the attitude we bring to conference games," stated Coach Carver.  Iowa Western are now 6-3-0 on the season and 3-3-0 in the region.
