IWCC Women's Soccer snagged another conference win beating Dakota County Technical College 4-0.
The Reivers came out flat-footed and received a rude awakening with DCTC's high pressure style of play. Towards the middle of the first half the Reivers slowly gained composure. Tori von Mende pushed the Reivers ahead 1-0 burying the ball in the back of the net off of a crossed ball by Chamea Palmer in the 23rd minute, leaving the score 1-0 at the half.
In the 53rd minute, Shelbey Warren scored off a pass from von Mende. Warren struck the ball at the 18 yard line and pinged the top of the goal frame resulting a 2-0 lead over the Blue Knights.
In the 86th minute, Palmer scored off of a through ball from von Mende resulting in a 1v1 with the DCTC's keeper. Palmer dribbled around the GK and placed the ball in the back of the net. In the 88th minute, the Reivers were awarded a penalty kick after a DCTC player handled the ball in the box. Palmer scored the free kick and capped the scoring off at 4-0.
IWCC's defensive line and goalkeeper, Kelci Little, had a phenomenal game. Little made many crucial saves including a 1v1 in order to secure the Reivers with their 3rd consecutive shutout.
