The Reivers competed at the annual Scott Nisely Classic at Doane College this weekend, claiming two more national qualifiers and a school record.
The field events started off the day at 11 a.m. with several Reivers qualifying for the indoor national meet. Not to be out done by her teammate sophomore Monique Apuakehau taking the number 1 spot on the NJCAA leader board and breaking the school record with a vault of (3.42m). The day belonged to the sprinters with 1,2,3 finishes in the 60m dash lead by transfer Shaheed Hickman running a time of (6.83) the 5th fastest time in NJCAA this year transfer Akiel Smith runs (6.90) just missing qualifying by (.02) seconds freshman jumper David Ejumenta runs (7.03). On the women’s side sophomore jumper Karen Desgraves runs the second fastest time of the day with (8.01). Freshman Sharon Mainor wins the 200 and the 400 with a time of (25.74) and (59.85). The Reiver men almost swept the 200m dash with the top 7 times of the day lead by Akiel Smith and Marcus Klein with time of (22.53) and (22.75). Marcus also runs the second fastest time in the 400m with a time of (51.46) Freshman Paul Tate and Renardo Wilson run blazing times in the 600m with time of (1:23.94) and (1:24.96). The Reiver 4x4 relay finish the day with a win with a time of (3:24.76) beating the field by 5 second
