Region XI Indoor Championships-2017

The Reivers competed in the Region XI Indoor Championships this past weekend and took 2nd place in Women’s. With 4 new national qualifiers for the NJCAA National Track Meet this coming March in Pittsburg Kansas.

                        Reivers take 2nd Place overall for the Women’s team

 The field events started off the day. Patria Vaimaona take 2nd in the weight throw and 4th in the shot put.  Sophomore Detrich Lodge takes 3rd place in the long jump with a leap of (5.32m) Sophomore  Monique Apuakehau takes 2nd  in the Pole Vault and 6th in the high jump Freshman Salome` Brugier wins the pole vault and 6th in the long jump. Sophomore Chevelle Hunte takes 2nd in the high jump. The women’s Pentathleates took 1st 2nd 4th and 6th Lead by Lisa Blackwood and KellyAnn James.

The running events started with a bang in the women’s 60 hurdles Dasia Sanders  takes 2nd. The lady Reivers went 2nd 4th 5th in the 60m lead by sophomore Chyna Watson-Reid with a time of 7.80. The ladies also went 1st 2nd 3rd in the 200m lead by transfer Saqukine Cameron with a time of (24.99) freshman Sharon Mainor (25.45) and Chyna Watson-Reid (25.56) Freshman and to finish with a 1st and 2nd place in the 400m Saqukine Cameron (58.26) and Sharon Mainor (58.86). Shanieke Watson takes 1st in the women’s 1,000 and 2nd in the 600m. Ariat Olok takes 2nd place in the 1000m to teammate Shanieke Watson. The lady Reivers places top 3 in all the relays Distance Medley Relay 3rd (14:25.93) Jamie Goblirsch, Chevelle Hunte, Olivia Russo, and Madison Cherek. The 4x800m Relay 2nd (10:14.19) Jamie Goblirsch, Shanieke Watson, Ariat Olok, and Taylor Valentine. Finally the 4x400m Relay 1st *(3:53.55) Saqukine Cameron, Sharon Mainor, Chyna Watson-Reid, and Lisa Blackwood.


 The Reivers will be in action again on the 2nd of March in Pittsburg Kansas for NJCAA National Indoor Championships
