2017 Friends Invite

The Reivers were in action today at the Grizzly Invite hosted by Butler Community College.   The Reivers claimed 12 national qualifiers for the NJCAA National Track and Field Meet and 3 school records broken.

         The field events started off the day at 11 a.m. with a couple Reivers qualifying for the Outdoor national meet. Sophomore Monique Apuakehau won the women’s Pole Vault and qualified for the national outdoor meet and broke the school record with a jump of (3.35m) Patria Vaimaona wins the women’s hammer with a throw of (47.50m) and 3rd in the discus with a throw of (46.53m)

 The running events started at 1:00 p.m. with several other Reivers qualifying for outdoor national meet.  Sophomore Shanieke Watson was on a mission today running the 1500m and the 800m and winning both with a season records in both events and qualifying in both events with time of 2:18.29 800m and 4:54.08 in the 1500m. Detrich Lodge takes 3rd in the 100 hurdles with a season best of 14.77 qualifying her for the outdoor national meet. Lisa Blackwood wins the 400H with a time of 1:05.44 putting her top 5 on the NJCAA leaderboards. With such great performances the meet belonged to the sprinters. Chyna Watson Reid had a great meet for early on in the season qualifying in both the 100 and 200 with times of 11.90 and 24.38. Sophomore transfer Saqukine Cameron runs a blazing time of 56.00 in the 400m giving her a spot at the national track meet. Women’s 4x100m relay wins by 2 seconds 46.90 (Chyna Watson-Reid, Detrich Lodge, Jalayzha Turner-Ford, Saqukine Cameron). On the men’s side of things Bill Oyet wins the 800m with a time of 1:59.14. Freshman Vincent Gordon came with the heat today 100m running a time of 10.29 breaking the school record and putting him in the top 5 on the NJCAA leaderboard not to be out done Tremayne Flagler breaks the school record again in the 110H with a time of 14.24 putting him to 4 on the NJCAA leaderboard In the 100m the Reivers 3 runners setting personal records Vincent Gordon (10.29) Shaheed Hickman (10.42) Daiten Rhone (10.85) Hickman also took second in the 200m with a time of 21.30. The men’s 4x100m wins by over a second with a time of 40.96 Tremayne Flagler, Vincent Gordon, Jordan Minnis, Shakeed Hickman. The 4x400m wins by over 2 seconds with a time of 3:22.94 Jordan Minnis, Bill Oyet, Vincent Gordon, and Kyle Farrell
