Men's Soccer

Camps

K-2nd Grad Camp June  7-9, 2010

Cost: $40.00  (includes shirt)

This camp will focus on placing the campers into fun activities involving a soccer ball. The idea is to get the campers at this age to begin to explore their physical abilities. The primary goal is to make the camper’s experience with soccer enjoyable!

6th-8th Grade Camp June  7-10, 2010
4:00:00 PM - 6:00:00 PM
Cost: $65.00  (includes shirt)

This camp will focus on continuing to master ball skills while spending more time developing and perfecting principles of the game (group defending/attacking, possession, team shape, decision making, etc.). Small-sided, multi-goal games will be used in various sizes to help improve decision making and fine-tune technical abilities in tight spaces.

3rd-5th Grade Camp June  7-9, 2010
10:00:00 AM - 12:00:00 PM
Cost: $55.00  (includes shirt)

This camp will provide the opportunity for campers to begin establishing and mastering ball skills (passing, dribbling, shooting, 1v1, etc.). The focus is on developing a relationship with the ball in a fun and slightly competitive environment.

High School Camp--Boys June  21-24, 2010

Cost: $75.00  (includes shirt)

This camp will stress ball mastery and technical skills with an emphasis on team tactics on defense and in the attack. The idea of this camp is to give the players an idea of how training is approached at the collegiate level. This camp is also used to evaluate and assess local talent for prospective recruiting.

High School Camp--Girls June  21-24, 2010

Goalkeeper Camp (5th-8th Grade) June  21-24, 2010
4:00:00 PM - 6:00:00 PM
Cost: $65.00  (includes shirt)

This camp is an opportunity for goalkeepers to receive specialized training for a key position on the field. This camp will cover many principles of goalkeeping (hands, body shape, positioning, recovery, etc.). We will also present many game-like scenarios (crosses, set plays, back pass, etc.)and demonstrate the proper methods to use during these situations.

*High School Goalkeeper Camp is held during High School Camp.

Please download and print off the registration form located on this page. Your non-refundable payment must be sent with the camp registration form. If space permits, you will also be able to register on-site the day of camp for an additional $5.00 convenience charge.

Liability Waiver

All camp participants that have not attained their 18th birthday will need to have a parent/guardian sign a liability waiver (included on registration form) in order to participate in the camps.

Coaching Staff

Jordan Carver, Head Coach Men's Soccer
Coach Carver is excited to partici-pate in his 3rd Reiver Soccer Camp held at the beautiful cam-pus of Iowa Western Community College! He is an experienced coach at the youth, high school, and collegiate level. Coach Carver is currently in his second season as Head Coach for the men’s pro-gram at Iowa Western Community College. In his first season as head coach, Carver led the Reivers to an ICCAC Conference title, Region XI tournament runner-up, and an NSCAA final ranking of #14 in the nation. Carver holds a USSF B License and NSCAA National Diploma. He also has a diverse soccer play-ing career: William Penn University (D-III), Iowa Western Community College (NJCAA), Ogden Out-laws (Premier Development League), and Grand View College (NAIA).
 

Brad Silvey, Head Coach Women’s Soccer
Coach Silvey enters his second season as the Head Coach for the women’s soccer program at Iowa Western. In 2009, Silvey lead the team to a record breaking season resulting in another ICCAC Con-ference title and Region XI title. Within the past four seasons, the Reiver’s have placed in the top 10 every year resulting in four Region XI Champion-ships, two District C Championships, and two runner-up finishes at the NJCAA National Tournament. Coach Silvey has been involved with soccer for over 20 years now, both as a coach and player. He is very passionate about the sport and enjoys coaching at all levels and age groups. This will be his 6th year par-ticipating in the Reiver Soccer Camps. Silvey cur-rently holds a USSF B License and both his State and Regional NSCAA Goalkeeping Diplomas.
