Reiver Women Are Your Region XI Champions

The Reiver women over-came some of the worst weather conditions to take the Region XI Championship played at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny, IA on April 28th and 29th.  Day 1 started out with rain and a steady north wind that made is feel like below freezing (31 degrees). Mix in a few ice pellets and not enough dry clothes and you get the worst conditions possible.

Though the conditions were not ideal, Iowa Western was able to post some good scores to lead as a team by 21 strokes after Day 1. Sena lead the way with a score of 77. Katie and Carlota followed with 81's. Rounding out the scoring was Cassidy with a 82 and Shayla with a 92. The top 4 Reivers scores were good enough to place all of them in the top 5 of the field.

Day 2 called for the same conditions as Day 1. However, this time the coaches voted to cancel the round and use Day 1 results as the final results/scores. Final places for the girls were: Sena-1st, Carlota-3rd, Katie-4th, Cassidy 5th & Shayla-12th. All five will be representing Iowa Western at the National Championships in Atlanta, GA the week of May 15th!
